The success of the Tales of series is no longer made. Between the small number of episodes released in Europe who held me all day, and those who have never exceeded the Japanese border, as thousands of players, I despaired of being able to touch one day following the saga. As a great lover of Japanese games, the output of Tales of Xillia was, for me, as expected the Messiah. Indeed, after the excellent Tales of Graces, an RPG featuring Asbel Lhant in an equally breathless innovator scenario, try the next episode was imperative.
From the beginning of the game, I was offered a choice between two characters, two different visions of history: one of the novelties of the game I found myself immersed in the world of Rièze Maxia. The story begins with the encounter between Jude, a medical student, and the young Milla, which actually the incarnation of Maxwell, Lord of Spirits. The latter will be assisted by Jude to find his powers, while adapting to its human condition. And, on the other hand, Milla will investigate and neutralize destructive machines sucking mana. The choice is given between these two charismatic characters. Having finished the story as Milla and Jude as I can say that the bottom of the novelty lies more in the extension of life in two distinct scenarios.
This feature is however optimized during combat phases. Indeed, the ability to control all the characters, with each their specific fighting style, has allowed me to take one game at a dynamic and tactical. A major addition to this new opus also resides in the combat system. Different techniques can be varied combat, without going through the linearity where the buttons that you only play one more tortures.
The screenplay, slow , will be marked by many encounters various characters, which will strengthen the ranks . Harvesting materials , in addition to quests , has also lengthen the game, while unlocking new items . Lovers open world refrain linearity is unfortunately the appointment of the new album, to level design , pretty little classic and innovative. Namco Bandai has still managed to make me overlook these few problems, as the graphics have been worked .
After forty hours of play, what most caught my attention is, as I mentioned above, the combat system. Resplendent graphics and characters have also made a bonus to Tales of Xillia . Despite the linearity of the game and the predictable scenario. I recommend above all the J- RPG fans who are more attracted to shimmering environments and outgoing characters straight heroic-fantasy manga , well informed and perfectionists players.
